TurboVote Summer Associate: Nonprofit support Practical Exercise
posted January 17, 2018
TurboVote helps users get registered, stay registered, and cast a ballot in every election, from municipal to national. TurboVote signed up its millionth voter in 2016 by building the largest college, nonprofit, and corporate voter engagement coalition in the country, including hundreds of campuses, dozens of nonprofits, and companies like Starbucks, Univision, Facebook, Google, and Snapchat.
Using relevant Democracy Works blog posts and the TurboVote Toolkit for inspiration, outline a proposal for how a nonprofit or advocacy organization of your choosing could use TurboVote for a voter engagement campaign. You should incorporate answers to the following questions within your proposal:
- Nonprofits and advocacy organizations with a multi-state or national scope are usually more effective partners. Which organization did you choose and why?
- What are three on-brand tactics this organization could use to get their audience signed up for TurboVote and engaged in the 2018 midterm elections?
Please limit your response to a one-page (at maximum) PDF.

You should not spend more than two hours on this project (and we anticipate that it’s possible to draft an effective answer in as little as 30 minutes), so if you find yourself with additional questions or feel like you’re over-scoping the project, drop us a line at firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to seeing your work!
